Let’s take the first step together and help South African Youth to showcase their talents
A Mandela Legacy Foundation Initiative
The Mandela Legacy Foundation and InternMatch have established a pilot program in South Africa that will place 1,000 tertiary educated South Africans into internships with companies in Africa and around the world (remotely).
The target demographic is tertiary-educated graduates who have aspirations to have a
professional job but have been starved of real-world opportunities. Female graduates will
be specifically encouraged to participate in the program.
We need to engage with the business community to ensure that we have a strong pipeline of internship opportunities year-round but in particular, we need to secure the initial requirements for the Pilot Program.
The InternMatch platform is an innovative, graduate placement and management system that unlocks value for students, universities and companies by bridging the global skills gap.

InternMatch facilitates the matching of interns to your role
Our research has established that real-life, hands-on industry experience is the most valuable way for graduates to obtain meaningful career-related employment. We intend to expand the number of opportunities available to Africa’s graduates through a Global Internship Program – with both domestic and international companies – that will be managed and monitored through the InternMatch platform.
Traditionally, internships have been conducted on- premises – inside corporate offices. But with the onset of COVID-19, the world has quickly adapted to a remote working environment that has seen companies taking on ‘remote’ internships for the first time, and to start drawing from the global talent pool.
The InternMatch platform is an innovative, graduate placement and management system that unlocks value for students, universities & companies by bridging the global skills gap.
