Vocational placements, also known as internships, are one of the most cost-effective ways to add enthusiastic, engaged and diverse resources to your business. InternMatchfacilitates internship placement providers that partner with leading companies, education providers, start-ups and industries across Australia to place university graduates into internships for course credit. Internships allow students to gain valuable experience in their chosen industry and prepare them for professional careers.

How It Works

Length of Internships

Majority of internships span for a maximum of 12 weeks

Number of Days

Students select the number of days they wish to intern. We suggest no less than 3 days to ensure they add value back to the host company

Unpaid

Students are aware that their internships are unpaid. So there are no costs to you as a host company.

Selection

We supply you with pre-screened students that fit your requirements then you get to choose!

Support

We are here to help you through the entire internship process if you need any help

Post-Internship Employment

You can choose to offer the intern employment at the end of their internship, however it is not a requirement.

Why host interns through InternMatch?

As one of our host organisations, here’s what you can expect from the program:

  • FairWork compliant: As our interns are participating in the program as part of their accredited courses, the program meets all the compliance requirements for unpaid vocational placements under the FairWork Australia guidelines.
  • Full insurance cover: All interns are covered by InternMatch for Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and WorkCover insurance for the duration of the internship.
  • Qualified and highly-motivated interns: All of our interns have completed a Bachelors degree or higher, with many completing their Masters or other post-graduate qualifications. They are highly-motivated to make a valuable contribution to your business, as this experience is pivotal to kickstarting their careers.
  • No financial outlay: As the internship earn course credits as part of the student’s education, there is no monetary cost to our host organisations for the full 12-week (full-time or part-time) internships. However, the host organisation is welcome to pay the intern should they wish.
  • Specialised knowledge: Skillsets cover almost every discipline such as ICT, accounting and finance, human resources, engineering, marketing, logistics and supply chain, hospitality, tourism and many more.
  • Previous experience: Many of our international interns have previous experience in their chosen fields and can add value to your business straight away.

Types of Internships

On-Site Internships

The traditional internship experience allows the student to work under the supervision of a staff member and complete various tasks assigned to them throughout the internship. These are the most dynamic work experiences and allow the organisation flexibility when allocating tasks and resources. Our host organisations have the option to take one or more interns at any time.

Remote Internships

The same as a traditional office-based internship, however students intern from their own home! As companies are increasingly moving towards flexible working arrangements, remote work is a valuable experience for students and graduates. We’ve developed a best practice internship from home guide to help support business to effectively manage an intern who is based at home.

Examples of how interns can help your business

Information Technology:

  • Business Analyst: Process mapping, market research, data analysis, CRM customisation and general documentation and planning
  • Developers: Frontend and backend using a variety of technologies including html, Java, Javascript, CSS and MYSQL
  • IT Support: Helpdesk positions involving troubleshooting and solving issues with various hardware and software
  • Networking and telecommunications: Hardware and cloud-based

Accounting and Finance:
